If you visit La Manga Club to simply laze around one of the wonderful pools or drive down to the private beach then that’s fine but you might find the world famous La Manga Club Tennis Centre beckons to try your skills against some of the best tennis coaches available in Europe. There are 29 tennis courts at La Manga Club and a variety of tennis courses available running weekdays and weekends. La Manga Club offers tennis tuition for all age groups and for all abilities. There is no need to be concerned that you will be playing with people of different abilities as ability is assessed at the free tennis welcome meeting held each Sunday at the tennis centre.

The La Manga Club tennis academies run Monday to Friday and are generally held in the mornings allowing the coaches to take private lessons in the afternoons. Academy groups are not usually large than six people and private lessons can be for two people maximum. Private lessons are also available with video analysis. The tennis academies and private lessons are popular and pre-booking is therefore recommended. If you just wish to hire a court then you may wish to leave it until you arrive.

If you are not attracted to La Manga Club for its spectacular tennis facilities then it may be that you have heard of La Manga Club because of the three fantastic golf courses that exist. Many new courses and resorts have sprung up in the Murcia region over the past 5 years but none of them with the established greens of those at La Manga Club. All three La Manga golf courses, North, West and South, are on site therefore maximising on the time you can spend on the golf courses rather than driving around from course to course.

The La Manga Club South course is the championship course for which you will need a handicap certificate to play. For the North and West handicaps are not a requirement. You can arrange club hire and buggy hire via the La Manga Club Golf Administration office which can be paid locally avoiding airline costs for transporting golf clubs. Tee times commence each day at 8.00 am and continue until dusk. The last tee time will vary dependent on the time of year. It is advisable to pre-book tee times at La Manga Club if you have specific requirements but if you are flexible then you can wait until you arrive.

Increase in holidaymakers visiting Marbella

The number people enjoying holidays in Spain is on the increase, it has been revealed.

According to fugues from the Andalucian local government, the number of people holidaying in Marbella has increased by 8.1 per cent in the last year.

More than 900,000 tourists stayed in hotels in the resort between January and June 2008, indicating that despite the economic doom and gloom, holidays in Spain are as popular as ever.

Woody Allen heading to Murcia

Holidaymakers heading to Murcia over the festive season might cross paths with a movie star.

According to the Costa Blanca Leader, the actor, writer and director Woody Allen will be arriving in the region to perform with his jazz band on December 31st.

Allen plays clarinet in the group, which performs weekly in Manhattan, New York.

Brits take their troubles on to holiday fairways

Renting an apartment in Spain is a great way to get away from it all, but many Brits could still find it difficult to leave their worries at home.

That is the finding of American Express Travellers Cheques, which recently polled the public and found that 36 per cent of younger travellers are afraid of returning to a burgled home.

Even the relaxing prospect of a few days worth of golf was not enough to stop some people thinking about the mortgage and feeding the family, with 35 per cent of 25 to 34-year-olds admitting they worry about such matters on holiday.

Justin Rose is expecting to be a father, according to the Daily Mail, as his partner Kate Phillips is pregnant with his child.

While Rose would be in his element on La Manga Clubs three world class courses, his little one could also hone the skills that made a 17-year-old boy the talk of the golf world 11 years ago.
