The Beaches on La Manga Strip

The selection of beaches on La Manga strip are exceptional. There is 42 kilometres (26 miles) of beach around the pure, crystal clear waters of the Mar Menor; warm enough to swim in throughout the year, including the evenings during winter time. The maximum depth is seven metres.

The three main beach areas on La Manga strip each have their own unique characters. The sandy Mar Menor beach follows onto the calm, very warm La Manga del Mar Menor lagoon. On the Eastern coast of La Manga strip is the Mediterranean side, which has a sandy beach leading to the open sea. On the Southerly coast is the final beach; with a different landscape the beach is peaceful, but many beaches are surrounded by rocky areas.

The Mar Menor and the Mediterranean are two seas that encircle the coastline, which has impressive cliffs and great beaches of endless white sand, lively ports and wild coves with crystal clear water. The beaches on La Manga strip enjoy more than 3,000 hours of Spanish sunshine every year and also mild temperatures, even during the winter, with an average temperature per year of more than 18ēC. Known as the Costa Calida, this area is the perfect location to spend several days relaxing both in winter and summer.

From the fishing town of Aguilas to the white dunes of the beach of El Mojon in San Pedro del Pinatar, there is kilometre after kilometre of beautiful beaches and deserted coves. There are wonderful picturesque fishing villages as well, like La Azohia or Cabo de Palos where you can spend a few days to lose yourself. There are also ports like the one in Mazarron where you can spend a lively evening and delight in its magnificent gastronomy, as well as areas of natural beauty – unique in the whole Mediterranean – at the beaches of Calblanque, which is one of the most highly rated areas in the Mediterranean. The beaches on La Manga strip are a paradise between two seas, sandy sea beds and crystalline waters, which all help to make La Manga Club one of the worlds great resorts in southern Spain and La Manga.
